At Boston University 's official bookstore,
Barnes and Noble, students may purchase textbooks and school supplies.
Between classes, the GSU (George Sherman Union) is a place for students
to hang out - either to grab lunch or just to talk with friends.
In their free time, students may participate in a wide range of
student activities. Whether
interested in a political, religious or cultural organization, in
community involvement, or in a performance group, Boston University
has something for everyone in one of its 350 student
organizations.
For students interested in sports, the university offers a wide
range of sporting events.
Root for the Terriers at the annual Beanpot tournament where Boston
University will compete on the ice against Harvard, Northeastern
and Boston College. Or for students interested in getting involved
themselves, PERD (the Physical
Education, Recreation, and Dance department) is an excellent resource
for available facilities, from the CASE gymnasium and Faneuil Pool
to the Sailing Boathouse with its prime location on the Charles
River. There are also a number of intramural
sports, including the popular Broomball - which is like hockey
only in sneakers and with a broom instead of a stick. Or for students
wishing to invest less time, there are also many brief free workshops
like aerobox and inline skating.
Of course, this is only a taste of what Boston University has to
offer. With all of the resources available at the university, every
student is likely to discover new and exciting things to do from
the day they move in up until the day they graduate.
